Newcomers Club of Mexico City was formed to welcome and help our members and their families acclimate to life into the Mexico City community. The Club also promotes Mexican culture and supports a number of charities. We host monthly General meetings, social events, member support groups, interest groups and children's activities.

WHO CAN JOIN?
Newcomers Club welcomes everybody! We accept corporate and associate memberships. Our membership is comprised of recent arrivals as well as people who have lived here 3, 5, 10 and even 15 years!

COST OF MEMBERSHIP
Individual Membership: Annual dues for 2008-2009 are $500 pesos for new members ($350 after August for new members) and $350 pesos for renewals for individual memberships. Our membership year runs from January 1 through December 31. Current members may renew their membership between January 1 and March 31. If an existing member renews after March 31, their membership fee is charged at the new member rate. You may join either at the Newcomers Club office or at the monthly General Meetings.

Corporate membership: Corporate memberships are also available to any incorporated businesses or recognized government agencies with an office presence in Mexico City and it's environs. This includes companies, schools, embassies and non-profit organizations. The cost of corporate membership is $1,000 pesos per year and includes related benefits, details of which will be provided upon request.

OUR OFFICE
Newcomers maintains an office at the Union Church in Lomas de Chapultepec. This office is staffed by volunteers Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am to 12.30pm.  Office volunteers can provide information on everything the Club has to offer as well as take new membership applications and advertising requests for our newsletter and web site. If you are in Mexico on a "look see visit" before moving down, we strongly urge you to stop by the office and consider joining us. As a member you will have resources available to you before your move that will help make the move smoother.

OUR MONTHLY MEETINGS
On the 2nd Friday of every month (unless otherwise noted), the Newcomers Club hosts its monthly General Meeting focusing on the needs and/or interests of our membership. Topics have included: community services, home & safety, an art fair, mini-workshops, a book sale, travel & adventure, health & beauty and our semi-annual artesania shopping bazaar. Guest speakers often highlight the themes with a short talk and/or presentation. In addition, our meetings provide an opportunity for members to access the resources offered by the Club and to sign up for activities, tours and events that interest them.
