Welcome to Newcomers

Welcome to the Newcomers' Club of Mexico City. For over 30 years the Club has been a valuable community for both new arrivals and long-time residents of Mexico City, helping people meet other English-speaking families and friends, and providing social and charitable activities.

Moving to a new country can be an overwhelming experience, whether it is your first time or tenth, as you adjust to the culture, language and people. Your experience can be quite rewarding, though, if you are able to find assistance and support. Newcomers can facilitate your family's transition to Mexico and provide an instant community through our many activities and events, from Welcome and Orientation for new arrivals to monthly social activities such as book clubs, playgroups and tours, to evening cocktail parties, and more.

Newcomers also offers three publications which provide useful information on settling, living and traveling in Mexico. For more information on these publications, please refer to the "Guide to Mexico" tab on our website. We also run a Yahoo Group, where members share advice on paying bills, hiring household help, finding a school/doctor/grocery store etc. Finally, we publish a monthly newsletter to apprise members of club and community events, as well as provide useful articles by other members on travel and culture within the country.

The Club is managed on a purely volunteer basis; members give their time, skills and talents to help ensure the success of the Club. We are always open to new ideas and would really appreciate your help and input. If you would like to get involved in the Club, please contact our office, or me personally. I look forward to meeting you and, should you have any questions about Mexico City or the Club, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Rupal Dalal
