The activities listed here and on the webpage newsletter are here for YOU!
The members in the following groups are always looking for new participants.
All activities are open to all members.  These activities are a great way to learn a new game (bridge or bunko), a new skill (sewing, Spanish), make new friends, discuss great books, or find new places around Mexico City.

Baby Blankets:  The first Monday of each month we make simple baby blankets for young mothers at the Hospital General de Tlalnepantla.  You do NOT need to know how to sew.

Book Discussion Group:  Do you love to read and talk about literature?  Join our Book Discussion Group!  We meet the second Thursday of each month at 11am in different people’s houses.

Bunko:  Join us at 9.30am for breakfast and 10am to noon to play.  Please join us for a potluck breakfast and a fun and easy dice game.  We welcome new players.  We will teach you how to play. Bunko is an easy way to make friends!

Duplicate Bridge:  We extend a cordial invitation to duplicate bridge at Union Church on Mondays from 10am to 2pm.

English Conversation Group: Tuesdays from 11am to 12.30pm.  Anyone wanting to enjoy the company of interesting people and improve their English-speaking skills is welcome.

Hogar Dulce Hogar:  We have volunteer opportunities working and/or playing with the children living in the home (i.e. helping with homework, reading and teaching English).

International Dinning:  It is a fun way to meet Newcomer’s members and their spouses while enjoying cuisines from around the world. About one Saturday evening per month interested members host a dinner or bring a dish, wine or other beverage to share. International Dining provides menus and recipes in advance.

Mahjong:  Do you enjoy getting together with other ladies?  Join us on Fridays for Mahjong.  We play in different houses usually from 12pm to 5pm.

Morning Coffee:  The monthly coffee is hosted as a members home and it is a great way to get acclimated to life in Mexico. Of course the delicious coffee and yummy treats are also crowd pleasers.

Out to Lunch Bunch:  We meet once a month at different interesting restaurants. This is a great way to get to know other members and try new places. The group meets at the restaurant and everyone pays for their own meal.

Playgroups:  Groups meet in members’ homes on a regular basis to provide children with friends and give them the opportunity to learn and play.  All of the playgroups are run privately by volunteers, in different geographic areas for children of all ages.

San Fernando Luncheon:  With Ora Hernandez we prepare and serve a hot meal and a piece of birthday cake for the elderly of the community of San Fernando, near Interlomas, every third Monday of the month.  This activity normally lasts from 11am to 3pm.  Please note: You do NOT need to know how to cook.

Scrapbooking Workshop:  Join a scrapbooking workshop, a fun way to keep your memories while meeting new people!  Create photo albums, mini albums and photo frames with embellishments, memorabilia, embossed designs, ribbons, stickers and much more in a photo-safe environment.  We meet 10am to 12pm on Wednesdays.

Spanish Conversation Group:  ¡Hola!   Practice your Spanish in a relaxed atmosphere and at the same time socialize with other members of the club.  We are divided into subgroups, so you can be with other students that are at your same level.  The cost is $50 pesos.  It will take place every Thursday from 10.30am to 12pm at the Newcomers Club Office at Union Church (Reforma 1870 Office #205). Please bring your notebook and bilingual dictionary.

Special Events:  The opportunity to buy tickets for special events that are organized throughout the year for adults and families. The Easter Picnic and Halloween Party are always popular with kids while our annual black tie event and dinners provide entertainment for you and your spouse.
